Den Beutel anschlie\u00dfend einige Male sch\u00fctteln, um den Ablauf der chemischen Reaktion zu beschleunigen. Die Kompresse erreicht nun innerhalb weniger Sekunden ihre k\u00fchlende Wirkung und kann somit nahezu nahtlos nach der Aktivierung zum K\u00fchlen der Verletzung in Gebrauch genommen werden. Die k\u00fchlende Wirkung der K\u00e4ltesofortkompresse h\u00e4lt bis zu 25 Minuten an. Eine Kompresse ist jeweils nur f\u00fcr den Einmalgebrauch einsetzbar.
